Hardcore anglers often take extreme measures to get to virgin fishing. If you want to fish the most remote corners of the globe, you do what is necessary to get there. Sometimes there is no other choice... and fortunately, sometimes there is! Over the years, we have learned that the absolute best way to access virgin territory in comfort is by live-aboard yacht. Having arranged successful live-aboards in Belize, the Bahamas, the Seychelles and French Polynesia, we are sold on the mothership concept.
We are therefore thrilled to announce a fantastic new live-aboard that will access some of the most difficult to reach and intriguing areas in the Bahamas. The 61', shoal draft, Hatteras Outpost is preparing to host anglers in areas out of the reach of most land based lodges. Unexplored and unfished areas such as: the west side of Andros, the southern tip of Long Island, the remote cays of Exuma including the northwest corner near Barra Terre and the legendary outside marls of Abaco. All of these areas are rarely, if ever, fished and represent a "holy grail" to many experienced anglers.
With classic woodworking throughout, this recently refurbished and absolutely beautiful yacht offers an experience that is a far cry from "roughing-it"! Amenities include a reverse osmosis water system that churns out plenty of fresh water. The ship's heads run on this fresh water eliminating the smells that are often associated with saltwater plumbing. The yacht's powerful central air-conditioning system creates a cool haven that is perfect after a full day in the hot sun. Anglers can step into the ship's beautiful salon and enjoy a cold drink and a fresh seafood dinner to put the finishing touch on what may become the best flats fishing experience available in the Bahamas today.
The Outpost tows two new bonefish skiffs which are ideal for exploring these remote and pristine areas. While experienced Bahamian guides will be on hand to assist you, it is important to remember that most well-traveled anglers will always choose "stupid fish over great guides" any day! Or to put it another way, remote fishing opportunities almost always win-out over sophisticated guides in highly pressured areas. On this trip, you get both. You'll find stupid fish and you'll have experienced guides! What could be better! If you seek remote waters and uneducated fish, this is your chance!
During this inagural season, the Outpost will focus its attention on the west side of Andros. Please remember that these are exploratory trips and only anglers willing to accept both the risks and rewards of these type trips should consider this adventure. The cost for groups of four anglers is $3500.00 per person for seven nights and six days fishing.
